SHINee Onew’s middle finger became a hot topic when a screenshot of the SHINee member began spreading online.
On March 18, SHINee appeared on MBC FM radio, Younha’s Star Shining Night, which included a live online streaming of what was going on during the radio broadcast.
Before the broadcast began, Onew gave the middle finger to the other SHINee members across from him, not realizing the streaming was already happening.
The action was captured and distributed online as netizens argued whether or not it was really Onew cursing at someone.
On March 19, SM Entertainment admitted that it was Onew, who was sticking up his middle finger.
“Onew was playing around with the other members before the broadcast began and it was captured on video” said the company. “There was no negative intention and was merely a joke, which is why he is also very shocked himself.”
“Onew is very apologetic and self-reflecting over his action. We promise to make sure something like this does not happen again.”
