From Howl To 'Growl' – EXO To Comeback August 5 With New Single And Repackaged Album
EXO will release a repackage version of XOXO and a new single "Growl" next month
EXO came back earlier this summer with their first full length album as a unified group and made a big impression with “Wolf.”Now the twelve-member boy band is getting ready to release their new single and repackage album next month.
According to a press release from SM Entertainment on Thursday, EXO will be releasing a repackaged version of their first studio album XOXO on August 5.The album will include songs from the original album in addition to three new tracks.
Among the new songs included will be “Growl,” the group’s upcoming new single.
EXO’s agency also announced that they will be start promotional activities for the repackage next Thursday with their first televised performance of the new song on M! Countdown.
Fresh off of promotions for XOXO and its title track “Wolf,” which was released on June 3, the Korean-Chinese mega group has been hard at work preparing for the new song’s debut.
XOXO reached the top of GaOn’s monthly album sales chart in June and reportedly sold over 380,000 copies. It was also at the top of the Billboard world albums chart just two weeks after its release.
The repackaged album and new single are also expected to perform well in the charts and online sales.
EXO, who debuted last year, have already developed a huge fanbase around the world.
Originally split into EXO-K and EXO-M (singing in Korean and Mandarin respectively), for the first album release SM Entertainment unified the group and announced they would be performing and promoting together.
With the release of “Wolf,” the group saw a huge increase in popularity across the globe.
They have recently joined the lineup for North America’s largest K-Pop event, KCON 2013, which will be held in Los Angeles August 24 and 25.
