LOEN Entertainment Agrees To Honor Promotional Contract For JYJ Singer Junsu Xia’s New Solo Album ‘Incredible’ After Facing Legal Action

LOEN Entertainment Agrees To Honor Promotional Contract For JYJ Singer Junsu Xia's New Solo Album 'Incredible' After Facing Legal Action In a 180-degree shift from their position earlier this week, LOEN Entertainment has agreed to honor their agreement to promote JYJ singer Xia Junsu's new solo album "Incredible."
In a 180-degree shift from their position earlier this week, LOEN Entertainment has agreed to honor their agreement to promote JYJ singer Xia Junsu’s new solo album “Incredible.”
LOEN’s capitulation comes in light of threats made by Junsu’s record label C-JeS Entertainment that their lawyers would pursue legal action against the company if they didn’t honor the promotion agreement.
According to the South Korean publication eNEWS, it didn’t come to that.
“Our dispute with Loen yesterday has come to a suitable agreement,” a representative from C-JeS Entertainment said in a statement.
“We met with high level officials from Loen in the evening [yesterday] and received a confirmation that Loen would go on with the distribution of Junsu′s second studio album and other marketing promotions as initially planned.”
A major point of contention for C-JeS executives, Junsu’s comeback special will be aired on LOEN’s MelOnTV service this Sunday as originally planned, to correspond with the release date of “Incredible.”
“Xia’s showcase, which many fans have been waiting for all this time, will be live-streamed through MelOnTV,” the rep told the publication Chosun.
“Also, the online promotions for Xia’s second full-length album have been confirmed so we will be able to distribute his music and performances for fans of [Junsu]‘s music.”
The C-JeS spokesperson thanked the media for their role in persuading LOEN into honoring their agreement.
“We sincerely thank the various media outlets for taking interest in the affairs of our agency and the public for showing their support,” the rep said.
“Xia will return the love and support with the release of his second album on July 15, an Asian tour and more.”
The gracious words were a far cry from the strong threats C-JeS Entertainment issued to LOEN yesterday.
“This kind of notice just six days before the release is an act of oppression, preventing us from pursuing contracts offering better conditions from other sources,” read the official C-JeS statement that led to LOEN’s acquiescence, according to the website allkpop.
“We will be filing a civil appeal to the Fair Trade Commission and Anti-Corruption and Civil Right Committee against [LOEN], who has misused their position as a distribution company to one-sidedly terminate an agreement made between two companies, and do our best to regain our rights.”
C-JeS can now apparently call off their legal beagles.
