MYNAME's 'Sha La La' Used As Theme Song For Japanese High School Baseball
What do MYNAME’s song “Sha La La” and baseball have in common?At first thought, nothing – but if you are one to watch Japanese high school baseball, you might have a very different idea.
Since the beginning of the month, the song has been playing as the opening and closing theme for the live broadcasts of the 2013 National High School Baseball Championship in Japan.
A press release on July 26 from the male idol group’s agency H2 Media confirmed that “Sha La La” had indeed been selected as the theme song for the championship’s television airings.
It is a particularly high honor for the Korean idol group as in years past, only the biggest Japanese stars have had their songs featured for the broadcasts.The Japanese High School Baseball Championship attracts many viewers and baseball professionals as the league is famed showcasing the nation’s up-and-coming baseball stars.
“Sha La La” first aired as the theme for this year’s championship with the opening ceremony on July 6 and continued for all live broadcasts until the closing ceremony on July 28.
MYNAME is a five-member boy band that was created in 2011 by former Fly to the Sky member Hwanhee.
MYNAME made their Japanese debut in July 2012 and have since seen a lot of success in the country.In March of this year, the group released their first full-length Japanese album titled We are MYNAME and held three sold out concerts in Osaka, Nagoya, and Tokyo in May.
Presently, the group is continuing promotions for their first mini-album and its title track “Baby I’m Sorry.”

INFINITE become first artist in 12 years to win #1 on the three major broadcasting stations

INFINITE has been sweeping music shows with their latest single “Man In Love” and they’re now recognized as the first artist in 12 years to win #1 on three major broadcasting stations (SBS, MBC, KBS) with the same song. INFINITE recently achieved #1 on MBC‘s ‘Music Core‘s first broadcast with its new ranking system. INFINITE also achieved #1 on KBS 2TV‘s ‘Music Bank‘ on the 4th and 12th as well as on SBS‘ ‘Inkigayo‘ on March 31st and April 7th. The previous artist and song that was able to achieve such a grand slam was back in 2001 when Fin.K.L‘s “You Wouldn’t Know” achieved #1 on ‘Inkigayo’, ‘Music Bank’, and ‘Music Camp‘ before it became ‘Music Core’.
