Actor Lee Min-ho tops Japan chart

Actor Lee Min-ho topped the Oricon daily chart in Japan on the day of his first album release there Monday, an official at Lee’s agency said, according to local media reports. It is exceptional to have a Korean actor top one of the most prestigious charts in Japan, though Korean singers have taken the honor before. “It is very surprising that such a result came out when the album did not accompany big promotions or TV appearances”, local entertainment industry experts were quoted as saying. “It appears that there have been people waiting until the album release as his popularity in Japan has been proven through DVD sales for his drama”. Lee earned international stardom after starring in TV drama “Boys over Flowers” in 2009. The album “My Everything”, which he released to show his gratitude to his fans, includes six songs such as “Always You”, “Love Motion”, and “You, Me and Us”. B.A.P remains popular in Germany

Boy band B.A.P has proven its international popularity as it has been in the top position on the German Asian Music Chart for three months, according to TS Entertainment. The group’s title song “One Shot” from its second EP has been on top since it was released in March, beating songs by other popular Korean idols including G-Dragon of Big Bang, SHINee and 4Minute. The group that made its debut in January 2012 has stayed on top with “No Mercy” for two months. It also set a record as the only K-pop group to remain in the top 10 for 16 consecutive weeks. The agency said that there have been requests from fans in the United Kingdom, Russia, Spain and Germany to see the group in person. The boys recently completed events in the United States as part of the “Live on Earth Pacific” worldwide tour. They were interviewed by MTV in Times Square in New York in front of about 3,000 fans there.

FTISLAND to Release 3rd Japan Album this June, ‘Individual Member Highlights’

Band FTISLAND will be releasing their 3rd Japan album this June. Their agency FNC Entertainment stated, “On June 5, they will be releasing their 3rd Japan album, RATED -FT .” Their 3rd album title song, “FREEDOM,” will reveal each of the members individual colors, making it a song to look our for. The album also includes self-composed songs from the members as well. FTISLAND stated, “Our greed for music has grown. For this album, we have poured our individual colors into it and has become our own style of music. We have always been known to be in the ‘flower rock’ genre, but we feel that our new song will not be in that category this time.” In this album member’s self-composed songs stand out the most. SM Entertainment Reveals Henry as Its New Solo Artist

SM Entertainment′s first solo singer in 13 years has unveiled himself, and he′s actually a face many know. On May 30, SM Entertainment announced that Super Junior-M member Henry will be releasing his first solo mini album Trap . Mystery teaser images for Henry had been released on May 29, dropping a bomb among music fans and SM fans everywhere. On June 7, Henry will release Trap through various music sites including Melon, Bugs and Genie, and promote his album in Korea. A rep from SM Entertainment said, “Henry is a big talent who has released many self-written songs with his composer team Noize Bank, and also boasts great skill in song, dance, piano, violin and other instruments. Lee Jong Suk to Hold First Fan Meeting in Taiwan

Actor Lee Jong Suk will be holding his first fan meeting in Taiwan. After a successful appearance on the hit SBS drama “Secret Garden,” Lee Jong Suk’s fans started to form not only in Korea but overseas. After Lee Jong Suk was cast in the MBC sitcom series “High Kick: Revenge of the Short Legs” and the KBS drama “School,” his fan base continued to grow both domestically and abroad, bringing the actor to Hallyu star status. With Taiwanese fans requesting a fan meeting, Lee Jong Suk decided to greet them through an event titled, “Lee Jong Suk 1st Fan Meeting,” which will be held June 1 in Taipei, Taiwan.  Currently, Lee Jong Suk is busy shooting  for the movie, “No Breathing,” and his newest drama from SBS called, “I Hear Your Voice,” which will air starting June 5.  Despite his busy schedule, Lee Jong Suk’s agency said the actor is practicing very hard to prepare for the upcoming meeting with his Taiwanese fans. 

SS501's Park Jung Min Reaches Legal Agreement with Former Agency

SS501‘s Park Jung Min finally reached a legal agreement with his former agency. On May 28, Park Jung Min settled his lawsuit against CNR Media after the third trial was held. The settlement officially cancels Park Jung Min’s exclusive contract with CNR Media. Park Jung Min’s reps commented, “After speaking with his legal advisers, Park Jung Min decided to thoroughly accept his former agency’s situation and receive a compromised and realistic amount of money.” They continued, “It was a very favorable settlement,” and “From the beginning, it wasn’t about the money but about ending the unfair practices in the entertainment world.” Previously, Park Jung Min filed an injunction against CNR Media to end his contract due to improper distribution of profits. Two trials were held beforehand, during which an agreement could not be settled upon. But during the third trial, which was held on May 22, both sides were able to reach an agreement. TEAM H, composed of Jang Geunsuk and DJ Big Brother, is bringing “I Just Wanna Have Fun” to the United States. Fans of CNBlue's Jung Yong Hwa Donate to Orphaned Babies

CNBlue recently held a concert in Seoul as part of their “Blue Moon World Tour” and fans of member Jung Yong Hwa, to commerate the event, donated 300 cans of milk that can feed 24,900 babies to the Holt Children’s Services. The fans were specifically part of Jung Yong Hwa’s fancafe called, “DC Jung Yong Hwa Gallery” and instead of just the usual rice donation that is popular among fans of K-Pop, Jung Yong Hwa’s fans also decided to donate milk in his name to orphaned babies.  Fans left messages with the donation that read, “We will support [him] till the day Yong Hwa is number one on Billboard” and “Yong Hwa, fly higher so you can see more of the world.” According to Hankooki, the “DC Jung Yong Hwa Gallery” stated, “We decided to donate milk so that infants at the adoption agency unable to find a new families can grow up healthy drinking good milk. B2ST revved up for its comeback this year following the grand announcement made by its agency rep Hong Seung Seong, releasing a new jacket image for its upcoming single Will It Be Okay . The image was revealed on May 28 through Cube Entertainment′s official SNS account. It shows the six members wearing classic suits, donning unique items of their own as well as some deep eye makeup. On May 27’s broadcast of KBS’ Hello , 2PM appeared as guests to hear the worries about an older sister, whose younger brother is way too overprotective over her. Nichkhun shared that he thought the younger brother should learn to trust his sister a little more, making the MCs ask Nichkhun if he trusts his younger sister. Without a moment’s hesitation, Nichkhun nodded, saying he does trust his younger sister. EXO is in high gear to return to K-Pop fans soon, and following the release of a series of teaser images, the group will take to the covers of fashion magazine CeCi’s China and Thailand editions. The June issue of CeCi’s Korea edition, featuring a 20-page spread of the boys, hit newsstands on May 15, and the China and Thailand editions will follow suit with the release of their June issues with the EXO members on their respective covers next month. MBLAQ to Make Comeback in Korea in June

MBLAQ announced that it would be making a comeback in Korea this June. The announcement was made at the special event for the group′s third Japanese single Mona Lisa-Japanese Version, held from May 16-17 in Tokyo. Fans who had purchased the single were given a chance to enter a draw for tickets to this event. Lucky fans were able to see MBLAQ perform onstage this day, listen to them talk and see them show off their individual charms. A total of 8,000 fans gathered for the four separate events. Lee Min Ho Sings Before 4,000 Fans at His Concert and Fanmeeting

Lee Min Ho was able to reunite with his fans in Korea for the first time in two years at his recent concert. The actor′s My Everything concert was held in Seoul on May 25, marking the start of his Asia tour. B.A.P In US: Featured on MNET Show ‘Danny from LA’

A wonderful opportunity for K-pop group B.A.P to showcase their album in the U.S market presented itself. Even with their jampacked schedule on tour, the group appeared in MNET’s American show “Danny from L.A”. They appeared as guests in the show and was interviewed by 1TYM Danny and talks about B.A.P “Live on Earth Tour”.     On the show’s Youtube channel, a video was uploaded featuring Danny having a conversation with some B.A.P fanatics who were patiently waiting in a long line for the concert held in Club Nokia.
